Sketchbook Wednesday Club
We love spotlighting fantastic local groups, which is why we are thrilled to feature local artist Laura Pearson-Clark and her wonderful Sketchbook Wednesday Club! Originally created as a "creative remedy" during the pandemic, it has blossomed into a relaxed, supportive evening meet-up for adults of all artistic abilities.
Laura has designed the group as a welcoming space to regain creative confidence, take a break from everyday stresses, and connect with others through art. Meeting once a month in Ely locations like Jubilee Gardens and The Maltings, these informal sessions explore sketching, painting, and collage. The club always keeps things fresh with new themes and exciting milestones, from sketching the Knife Angel sculpture to hosting Ely’s first-ever Drag Life Drawing session!
Perfect for complete beginners or anyone wanting to add a bit more creativity to their life, you do not even need to bring your own supplies. Basic materials are available to borrow on the night, and starter sketchpads can be purchased to get you going.
